क्यों हर क़दम को मंज़िल तक जाने में, (Why does every step toward the destination require) चट्टानों सा हौसला चाहिए? (the courage that moves mountains?) क्यों हर दर्द का अफसाना, (Why do my silent tears and stories) सिर्फ़ मेरा तकिया सुन पाए? (remain unheard except by my pillow, which can never speak for me?) क्यों हर हक़ को पाने के लिए, (Why do we always have to prove our rights to the world,) हर बार इम्तिहान देना पड़े? (undergoing tests again and again?) क्यों हर ख्वाब के रंग भरने को, (Why does painting dreams in vibrant colors) ज़माने से जंग लड़नी पड़े? (always feel like a battle with the world?) अगर मुक़द्दर लिखा हुआ है, (If destiny is already written,) तो फिर राहों में मोड़ क्यों हैं? (then why so many twists and turns?) अगर हर किस्सा तयशुदा है, (If every story is preordained,) तो फिर सपनों में शोर क्यों है? (then why do dreams still echo with longing?) अगर वक्त का पहरा ही सच है, (If time is the ultimate truth,) तो फिर अनंत का मतलब क्या? (then why does eternity exist?) अगर प्यार ही जीत का रास्ता है, (If love can conquer all,) तो फिर ख्वाबों की ये तल्ख़ी क्या? (then why do dreams still taste of struggle?) कौन समझेगा, जब तक ये दुनिया समझे, (Who will understand that by the time the world realizes,) सपने देखने की ताक़त ही कहीं खो जाए... (the strength to dream may already be lost in the battle...)
